Giona
Giona lies west of Parnassos, highest peak being Pyramida at 2507m. There are many similarities between the plant communities of both mountains. Although Giona is much less accessible, we will be able to get at higher levels by car. From where the tracks end we can make a walk up to Pyramida. Next to the species named on Parnassos, we will also find Rindera graeca, Saxifraga sempervivum.

Vardousia
The Vardousia range is separated from Giona through the valley of the Mornos river and its lake. We will be able to drive through this area by following unpaved roads.
We also will make a walk to Korakas, highest summit of Vardousia at 2495m.
Plants we can find here are: Silene auriculata, Asperula boissieri, several Saxifraga sp and Trifolium sp.

Iti
Also Iti is a National Park and is situated northwest of Parnassos. Large parts are covered with Pine forests, along tracks we will be able to explore this region and have regular stops to search for plants. Highest point is Pyrgos, at 2152m.

Parnassos
This mountain range is one of the more well-known in Greece, due to its important role in Greek mythology as the sacred mountain of Apollo and the Muses. Also the ancient site of Delfi is situated here. Big parts of the mountain are National Park, but despite this there are several ski stations and there is a lot of building going on within the boundaries. For us the ski stations are an advantage, making Parnassos relatively easy accessible. We will be able to get at higher altitudes from where we can have several walks. Plants which grow here are: Ajuga orientalis, the wonderful
Crocus sieberi ssp sublimis, Viola poetica, Saxifraga spruneri.
