A brief summary:
During this tour we pay special attention to the autumn flowering bulbs of the south Peloponnese, like Crocus niveus, Crocus goulimyi, Crocus boryi,
Crocus biflorus ssp melantherus, several Colchicum species, Cyclamen,
Sternbergia lutea etc.
From our base at Anigraia we will drive through the Parnon mountains to a
bay on the east coast. Along the road we already can find Crocus biflorus ssp
melantherus and Crocus niveus. In this bay you will stay in a restored
olive oilmill with small taverna close to the beach. Here grow Cyclamen,
Sternbergia lutea, Urginea maritima, Crocus niveus and Crocus boryi.
Along the unspoiled east coast we continue southward to the medieval town
of Monemvasia built on a small peninsula off the east coast.
In some places around Monemvasia we can find Crocus goulimyi.
From here we drive to our next destination, a hotel located at the south east
side of Mt Taygetos with panoramic views of Taygetos.
From this hotel we will make several tours, like to the Mani peninsula,
an offroad tour crossing Mt Taygetos to the west coast and a offroad tour along the eastern slopes of Taygetos towards Byzantine Mistras.
Weather depending, we will see several species of autumn flowering bulbs.
Day 8 we will return to Anigraia, this time following a different route through
Mt Parnon.


Accommodation
You will stay in one of the apartments of Anigraia, a group of traditional built
stone houses with swimming pool.
All apartments have 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sitting room with fire place and TV, internet, open plan kitchen, balcony and air conditioning.
Along the swimming pool there are deck chairs available to enjoy the view.
The complex is situated in quiet environs, near the town of Astros and a
5 minutes drive from the beach at Paralio Astros, east coast Peloponnese.
Day 4, 5, 6 and 7 you stay in a hotel near Mt Taygetos.

Transport
All transport during this tour is in comfortable 4WD cars with air conditioning.
